With its white sugar sands and jaw-dropping sunsets, Clearwater Beach is the gem of Florida’s Gulf Coast.

Far enough away from the hustle of Nashville yet close enough to Tampa to enjoy metropolitan amenities, the beautiful beach town offers an easy escape for Music City moguls looking to relax and unwind.

And what better way to immerse oneself in the local scene than with a luxe pied-à-terre overlooking the lapping waves of the Gulf of Mexico? This is Perfect Blue, a sleek 3,500-square-foot, four-bedroom, three-bath condominium that proves beachside living is as chic as it is sun soaked. Nashville-based entrepreneur, executive, and advisor Tracy Guarino purchased the home in late 2016 after falling in love with Clearwater on vacation more than a decade ago.

“I loved it, and I felt very much at home with my roots,” says the Rochester, NY native. “There are so many New York license plates and accents in the spring when the snowbirds come down.” She and her family immediately fell into step with the local scene in and around Clearwater. “There’s something for those very high-end tastes, but there are also great neighborhood spots for someone who just wants to find great local seafood,” she says. “And Tampa is right there.

In thirty minutes, you can be at the airport or you’re at International Mall. You have major sports—Yankees Spring Training, the Buccaneers, the Lighting,” she says. “Tampa is growing just as Nashville is. It’s on fire right now, so it’s a great alternative. 30A is beautiful, but this is such an easy flight and you’re further south with number one-ranked beaches. It’s gorgeous.”

And after staying at the nearby Sandpearl Resort for numerous trips, Guarino knew it was time to find a more permanent vacation spot for herself and her family.

“I started looking for a place and I wanted something light and bright and open. That’s why I like the white sand—my homes are always light and neutral,” she says. Upon moving into the space, Guarino, a New York native who owns stunning properties around the world, began to put her own touches on the space. It was already gorgeous—the view was beautiful. I wasn’t going to change much but I ended up changing everything.”

Working with interior designer Liz Thompson, Guarino transformed the classic Florida condo into a modern manse in the sky. With clean lines, sleek design, and luxurious touches throughout, it’s become a stunning second home.

“You can look out the back of the condo and all you see is water,” she says. “You really feel like you’re on a cruise ship—you’re just surrounded by the Gulf,” she says of the stunning vistas. “If somebody said go to your peaceful place, I picture myself on that balcony because you’re listening to the water, the birds, the breeze—it’s very tranquil.”

The serenity of the outside carries inside, where soft brushed oak flooring carries throughout the space—giving the condo’s floor a sand shadowed treatment. With 10-foot ceilings, the large living and dining area seems to flow right to the water, only separated by the recently installed, large hurricane rated sliding doors. The sun-soaked space is perfectly complemented by its design elements, including a stunning natural driftwood coffee table and Lucite accents that blend into their surroundings.

The wall between the dining area and kitchen features one of the condo’s original elements: a wallpaper that looks and feels like sand, while the opposite wall is covered in linen wallpaper that keeps the entire space feeling soft and inviting. Also facing the sparkling water in this split-plan residence is the primary bedroom, with floor to ceiling, west facing windows looking out onto a full view of water, sky, and frequent dolphin sightings. The primary suite also boasts a luxurious and modern bathroom with Carrara marble tile and a stand-alone soaking tub.

Guarino turned an office space into a wardrobe room, complete with custom built-in cabinetry and a hidden Murphy bed for surprise guests who are sure to have chic dreams. Other glam upgrades to the home? A beautiful Azul Macaubas stone Champagne bucket custom crafted by Guarino’s friends, the noted Italian artisans Barberini & Gunnell. The duo was also inspired to provide a stunning side table for Guarino’s living room. Named Cascata (Waterfall) for obvious reasons, the handmade, hand-signed piece is a crafted from 188 rods of extra- clear crystal glass from Scotland in various lengths, giving it a cascading effect that beautifully mirrors the water below.

“We were inspired by the light-filled home overlooking the ocean,” Francesco Barberini and Nina Alexandra Gunnell share. “The possibility to place our crystal table Cascata in the reading corner next to the chaise-longue right by the window was irresistible; the game of reflections when the sun hits the crystal is spectacular.”

Spectacular, indeed—just like Perfect Blue. If you’re interested in making Perfect Blue your second home, Erica Etjeke with Engel & Völkers, Belleair Florida holds this listing. (Erica.Etjeke@evrealestate.com; 727-461-1000)
